Biathlon Competition
The first recorded biathlon competition took place along the Norway-Sweden border in 1767 between patrol companies of both companies. The first modern biathlon is believed to have taken place in 1912 when the Forvarsrennet started in Oslo. This was an annual event which consisted of a 17km cross-country ski race and penalties that were incurred for missing targets in the shooting.
